The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their first round of roster cuts from Spring Training, sending Ralston Cash, Kyle Farmer, Henry Ramos, Jacob Rhame and Josh Sborz to Minor League camp on Friday. The cuts came after the Dodgers’ day-night doubleheader, and at a time with only two split-squad dates remaining on their 2017 Cactus League schedule.

Cash went 0-1 and yielded an 8.31 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in five games (5.1 innings). He pitched in Sunday afternoon’s game against the Kansas City Royals, issuing two walks and allowing one run on one hit. Cash record at least one strikeout in each of his five appearances.

Farmer had just one hit in 10 at-bats over eight games this spring. He demonstrated versatility that the Dodgers front office values, playing three games each at catcher and third base.

Ramos, signed to a Minor League contract last November, was enjoying a successful spring prior to suffering a groin injury. He batted .357/.400/.714 with one triple, one home run and six RBI.

Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, not only did the groin injury cut his spring short, but Ramos may not make a full recovery in time for Opening Day of the Minor League season.

Rhame left some to be desired in his four relief appearances this spring. The right-hander pitched to an inflated 24.00 ERA, which was a byproduct of allowing eight runs on six hits in just three innings of work.

Sborz threw four scoreless innings across two games. He was selected by the Dodgers No. 75 overall in the 2015 Draft.
