Even when the Los Angeles Dodgers seem to pull themselves off the mat, they fail to do so while remaining healthy. Joc Pederson was removed in the bottom of the sixth inning on Sunday due to right groin tightness, SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo relayed on the broadcast.

Pederson went 1-for-3 with a run scored, one double and one walk. It was his second game batting leadoff this season. He exited with the Dodgers leading, 6-2. Manager Dave Roberts said the team would reevaluate Pederson on Monday.

Excluding Andre Ethier, who began the season on the disabled list, Pederson is the second Dodgers outfielder removed from a game due to injury. Franklin Gutierrez came out on April 10 with right hamstring tightness, and was placed on the disabled list two days later.

Including Sunday, Pederson has appeared in all but one of the Dodgers’ 19 games this season. He went 3-for-11 with thee runs scored, two doubles and three strikeouts. Overall this season, Pederson is batting .220/.322/.340 with three doubles, one home run and seven RBI.

Should the 25-year-old require a stint on the disabled list, the Dodgers presumably would recall Brett Eibner or Trayce Thompson from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Both have spent a brief stint with the club this season. Eibner was optioned back to OKC prior to Sunday’s game.
