D.J. Peters of High-A Rancho Cucamonga was named the California League Player of the Week for games played June 12-18, 2017. Peters received the same honor for the stretch of April 24-30. He was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2016 Draft.

In the week Peters was recognized for, he batted .391/.563/.913 with one double, one triple, three home runs, seven RBI and eight walks over seven games. Peters is also in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that dates back to June 12.

In his first season with the Quakes, Peters is batting .261/.381/.494 with 12 doubles, four triples, 12 home runs and 40 RBI in 66 games.

Last season with Rookie-level Ogden, which was Peters’ professional debut, he hit .351/.437/.615 with 24 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs and 48 RBI, also in 66 games.

The Quakes did not play Monday and don’t resume their scheduled until Thursday. The California League is holding their All-Star Game in Visalia on Tuesday night.

Quakes catcher Will Smith and outfielder Luke Raley are starting for the South Division team, while first baseman Ibandel Isabel, Peters, and pitchers Caleb Ferguson and Dennis Santana are representing the Quakes as reserves.

In addition to Peters this season, Smith earned California League Player of the Week honors, and Mitchell White was named Cal League Pitcher of the Week.
