Last November, the Los Angeles Dodgers re-acquired Darnell Sweeney in a trade that sent Howie Kendrick to the Philadelphia Phillies. Los Angeles had previously included Sweeney in the August 2015 trade in exchange for Chase Utley.

The Dodgers selected Sweeney in the 13th round of the 2012 Draft. He spent the 2015 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .271/.332/.409 with 30 doubles, four triples, nine home runs and 49 RBI in 116 games.

The 26-year-old was moved yet again, with the Dodgers trading Sweeney to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for future considerations, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group:

The Dodgers traded Darnell Sweeney for the second time in two years. This time, Sweeney goes to the Reds for future considerations.

Sweeney hit .227/.290/.412 with eight doubles, one triple, four home runs and 15 RBI in 38 games with Oklahoma City. He played second base (10 games; seven starts), third base (nine; eight), shortstop (10; nine), left field (six; three) and center field (three; two) this season.

The versatile utility man made his MLB debut with the Phillies last season, though only had 15 hits in 98 plate appearances over 37 games. Among those were four doubles, one triple and three home runs.

By trading Sweeney, the Dodgers no longer have either of the two players received in last year’s Kendrick trade in their organization. Darin Ruf’s contract was sold to the Samsung Lions of the KBO in February.
