The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Corey Seager from the 10-day injured list and optioned Matt Beaty to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Seager returns after being sidelined June 13 due to a strained left hamstring.

At the time, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said an MRI revealed it was either a severe Grade 1 strain or minor Grade 2 pull. A timetable was not released, though it was reasonable to suspect Seager would miss one month and potentially up to six weeks.

Despite voicing some anxiousness over the recovery because of the unpredictable nature of hamstring strains, Seager made steady progress over recent weeks. He advanced to beginning a rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, appearing in three games.

Seager went 2-for-6 with an RBI and successfully played the field without suffering any setbacks. He’s expected to be in Friday’s lineup when the Dodgers begin a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox.

Seager is batting .278/.359/.468 with 21 doubles, eight home runs and 38 RBI. He returns with a nine-game hitting streak intact.

Beaty returns to Oklahoma City after his MLB led to an unexpected run with the Dodgers. He first joined the club at the end of April when A.J. Pollock was placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of undergoing elbow surgery.

Beaty’s time with the Dodgers included twice being optioned to Oklahoma City, only to quickly return, and a stint on the IL because of a left hip flexor strain. The 26-year-old hit .278/.297/.407 with eight doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI in 37 games.

One of Beaty’s home runs contributed to the Dodgers making MLB history by winning three consecutive games on a walk-off homer hit by a rookie. He is hitting .299/.380/.467 with seven doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI in 28 games for Oklahoma City.

While known for his bat, Beaty additionally proved to have defensive versatility. His early string of starts for the Dodgers came at first base, but more recently was playing left field. That was in response to the Dodgers moving Joc Pederson to first base.
