In what was a rematch of the 2018 National League Championship Series, both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers put on a show for fans everywhere over the weekend, with two of the game’s brightest stars on display in Cody Bellinger and Christian Yelich.

Bellinger, who has emerged as one of the leading candidates for 2019 NL MVP honors, flashed his talent on both sides of the ball in Sunday’s four-game finale against the Brewers.

He first robbed Yelich of what would’ve been his NL-leading 14th home run of the season, and then followed up with a go-ahead homer of his own to propel the Dodgers to another series win.

Yelich, the reigning NL MVP, still enjoyed an excellent series himself, slugging four home runs during the four-game matchup.

Clayton Kershaw, who was in the middle of it all on Sunday, was impressed by the play of both Bellinger and Yelich and deemed them two of the game’s best talents, via SportsNet LA:

“What him and Yelich are both doing is very, very special. It’s crazy. Just watching them play, you don’t see how it’s going to slow down. Just what they do, really all the way around. Belli robbed a homer, stole a base; Yelich is the same way. It’s pretty special. Definitely two of the top-tier guys in our game.”

With their respective hot starts to begin the regular season, it isn’t surprising that Bellinger and Yelich are drawing many comparisons to each other.

In 23 games thus far, Bellinger leads all of baseball in a plethora of categories, including runs scored (26), total hits (36), batting average (.424), on-base percentage (.500) and slugging percentage (.882).

Yelich, on the other hand, continues to build off his breakout season in 2018, leading the league in both home runs (13) and RBI (31) over 23 games played.
