The first voting update for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game was announced, and a pair of Los Angeles Dodgers are leading at their respective positions with another in position to advance to the next round.

Mookie Betts leads the way at shortstop with 1,023,690 total votes. Shohei Ohtani is just behind his total, leading at designated hitter with 1,002,377 votes.

Of course, Betts will miss the All-Star game after fracturing his left hand, so the NL will need to find a replacement. He can still be voted in for the honor, however.

Trea Turner trails him in voting with roughly half the total votes. Meanwhile at DH, Marcell Ozuna is about 600,000 votes behind Ohtani in the second spot.

Teoscar Hernández is also in position to advance to the next phase of voting, ranking fourth among outfielders with 761,934 votes. Six outfielders advance to the next round.

Among other Dodgers players on the ballot, Will Smith (557,970) is third overall among catchers, trailing William Contreras’s leading 746,461 votes, and behind J.T. Realmuto by roughly 700 votes.

Freddie Freeman (713,858) is second behind Bryce Harper, who leads the NL with 1,110,562 total votes. While this would normally place Freeman in position to move to the next phase, the player with the most votes overall in the first phase of voting will advance directly to a starting spot.

Gavin Lux ranks fifth (183,441) at second base, and Max Muncy is fourth (226,585) at third base. Luis Arraez and Alec Bohm lead at their respective positions.

Jason Heyward (191,133) is 10th among outfielders, while Andy Pages checks in at 14 with 167,584 votes.

Overall, Aaron Judge leads all players in votes with 1,366,315 thius far. He also led MLB in total votes during the 2022 season.

The next ballot update comes on June 24, and Phase 1 of voting ends on June 27.

Overall, nine different Major League clubs are represented among the 18 positional leaders, while 13 clubs are represented among the players on pace to advance to Phase 2 of 2024 MLB All-Star Balloting.

How to vote and additional information about the All-Star voting process can be found here.
