Dodgers Highlights: Max Muncy Homers, Corey Seager Collects 4 Hits In Blowout Win Over Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers got off to one of their worst starts in franchise history at 4-9, which was a direct result of collectively not swinging the bats well.

That has changed in recent days, as the team has now won four straight games to improve to 8-9. The stretch was capped off with a 13-run, 18-hit performance on Wednesday night to complete a sweep of the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

Perhaps the biggest hit on the night came in the top of the third inning when recent call-up Max Muncy took Padres starter Luis Perdomo deep for a two-run shot, completing a five-run inning for Los Angeles.

The home run was Muncy’s first in a Dodger uniform, and he finished the game going 1-for-4 with a walk, just missing a second home run on a ball he hit to the warning track.

Muncy wasn’t the only one who had a big night though, as Corey Seager broke out of a bit of a rough start to the season by going 4-for-5 with a walk, driving in three runs.

The big night raised Seager’s batting average from .212 to .254, and he is beginning to look like the player that has been named a National League All-Star in each of his first two full seasons.

Yasmani Grandal, Cody Bellinger and Matt Kemp all continued their hot starts to the season, recording two hits apiece. Both Grandal and Kemp tortured their former team in this series, combining to go 10-for-25 with three doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI in the three-game series.

The Dodgers will look to keep those bats hot as they welcome the Washington Nationals to town on Friday, although that will be a tall task with Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg starting the first two games of the series.

4-for-5 with 3 RBI tonight?
