Dodgers Highlights: Corey Seager, Chris Taylor, Mookie Betts & Max Muncy Home Runs Against Rockies

The Los Angeles Dodgers remained undefeated at home this season by defeating the Colorado Rockies, 7-0, to extend their winning streak to four games. They did so behind a dominant outing from Trevor Bauer and a lineup that produced four home runs.

Corey Seager began the onslaught with an opposite-field home run, which was followed by a long ball from Chris Taylor. It marked the first time the Dodgers had back-to-back home runs since Taylor and Kiké Hernandez against the Houston Astros on Sept. 12, 2020.

Antonio Senzatela then ran into more trouble in the third inning when he surrendered a leadoff home run to Mookie Betts. Senzatela nearly stranded Seager’s double, but kept the inning alive by walking Will Smith and Gavin Lux cashed in with an RBI single.

L.A. scored another run when the Rockies’ defense let Senzatela down as Trevor Story’s throw to first base was low and C.J. Cron was unable to dig it out. That led to Senzatela being removed and his career stats increasing to 24 runs and 10 homers allowed in 26.2 career innings pitched at Dodger Stadium.

The remainder of the Dodgers’ scoring was provided by Max Muncy, first with an RBI double in the fourth inning and then a screaming home run to straightaway center field in the sixth.

Bauer makes home debut with Dodgers

Bauer’s first time pitching at Dodger Stadium since signing with the Dodgers didn’t start particularly well as he followed a 1-2-3 first inning by walking the first two batters faced in the second.

However, he settled in from there and held the Rockies to just one hit — on a swinging bunt in the third — over seven shutout innings. Bauer collected nine strikeouts and retired the final 14 batters.
