The Los Angeles Dodgers received another strong start from Tyler Anderson and hit three home runs to defeat the New York Mets, 6-1, earning a second consecutive win.

Anderson held the Mets without a run over six innings, limiting them to just three hits and collecting five strikeouts. It marked a third consecutive start in which the southpaw turned in a shutout performance.

Anderson now has thrown 26 consecutive scoreless innings. He last allowed in the first inning of a May 17 outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Anderson’s three consecutive scoreless starts mark a career first.

He was provided early support by Cody Bellinger hitting a two-run home run in the second inning. The homer was Bellinger’s sixth of the season but first since May 12.

Zach McKinstry extended the Dodgers’ lead with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. McKinstry figures to be in line for extended opportunities due to Kevin Pillar (fractured left shoulder) and Edwin Ríos (right hamstring strain) both ending up on the injured list this week.

In the seventh inning, Trea Turner drove in Mookie Betts by beating out a grounder up the middle for a two-out RBI infield single. Betts had advanced to third base by running on what wound up being a wild pitch.

Turner had previously extended his hitting streak to an MLB-best 26 games with a single in the first inning.

Chris Taylor hit the Dodgers’ third home run of the night to create more of a cushion in the eighth.

Dodgers bullpen allows run

The Dodgers fell short of pitching a second consecutive shutout as Yency Almonte allowed a leadoff home run to Pete Alonso in the seventh inning.

Caleb Ferguson exited with two runners on in the eighth, but Daniel Hudson came on to shut the door in a four-out save.
