The Los Angeles Dodgers hit three home runs in a second consecutive game and Clayton Kershaw dominated the Milwaukee Brewers in an 8-1 win to finish the road trip. The Dodgers have won four series in a row for the first time this season and 10-2 in their last 12 games.

Wade Miley initially held the Dodgers lineup in check as he had a perfect game through three innings. Miley retired Mookie Betts to start the fourth, only to then surrender back-to-back home runs to Freddie Freeman and Will Smith that gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead.

William Contreras lined a solo homer off Kershaw in the bottom half of the inning, but the Dodgers responded in the fifth and never looked back.

Miguel Rojas and walks by Trayce Thompson and Austin Barnes loaded the bases, which the Dodgers nearly squandered. Freeman ensured they didn’t by dropping a two-out single into right field to bring in a pair of runs.

Miguel Vargas’ second consecutive game with a home run broke the score open in the sixth, David Peralta added a pinch-hit RBI single and Betts’ sacrifice fly capped off the four-run inning.

Kershaw picks up Dodgers bullpen

With the Dodgers coming off a night in which they needed to use seven relief pitchers because a blister/cut forced Noah Syndergaard out of his start after just one inning, Kershaw took a burden off the bullpen.

He got through seven innings for the third time this season and collected eight strikeouts without issuing a walk. It was a welcomed turnaround from Kershaw walking five batters in a loss to the San Diego Padres.
