The Los Angeles Dodgers broke out of a slump and snapped a three-game losing streak in emphatic fashion, led by AJ Pollock and Matt Beaty combining to make franchise history in a 16-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Alec Bettinger was knocked around in his MLB debut and wound up making a costly mental error when covering first base on an RBI infield single with the bases loaded. Pollock followed that with a grand slam that gave the Dodgers a 5-0 lead in the first inning.

When singles by Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Chris Taylor loaded the bases in the second inning, Beaty cleared them with his first career grand slam. Sunday marked the first time the Dodgers hit multiple grand slams in one game since Adrian Beltre and Shawn Green did so on May 21, 2000.

Beaty added to his big day with a two-run single in the fourth inning, and Pollock clubbed a three-run homer in the sixth. Pollock capped off his day with a two-run double in the eighth inning, narrowly missing his first career three-home run game.

Pollock led the team with eight RBI, and Beaty had seven, marking the first time in Dodgers franchise history they had two players drive in at least seven runs in the same game. Yasiel Puig (seven RBI) and Cody Bellinger (six) were closest to accomplishing the feat on Sept. 15, 2018.

Meanwhile, Pollock became the sixth player in Dodgers history with at least eight RBI in a game. He fell one shy of tying the franchise record shared by James Loney and Gil Hodges.

Urias gives Dodgers relief

With the Dodgers coming off back-to-back bullpen games — one planned and the other due to Dustin May’s injury — Julio Urias provided much needed length. He allowed one run and collected 10 strikeouts over seven innings.

Mike Kickham, who was called up as the corresponding move to May being put on the 10-day injured list, allowed three runs in the eighth and worked a clean ninth to finish the game out.
