The Los Angeles Dodgers joined several of their players in providing for those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria and earthquake in Mexico by pledging $100,000 to the American Red Cross in support of relief efforts.

Kiké Hernandez launched a campaign to raise money for his native Puerto Rico, and was joined shortly after by Yasiel Puig taking the same initiative for Puerto Rico and Mexico. Adrian Gonzalez, Fernando Valenzuela and Julio Urias are also among those to become involved.

Just as they did for Hurricane Harvey relief, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will also raise and contribute proceeds. This time it will be through their silent auctions held on Saturday, Sept. 23, Sunday Sept. 24 and Tuesday Sept. 26.

The Red Cross will be present to accept monetary donations on Saturday at La Gran Fiesta and Tuesday at locations (listed below) throughout Dodger Stadium, which will be staffed by Dodgers alumni.

In addition to the regular auction location on the Club Level outside the Vin Scully Press Box, LADF will hold auctions on the Left Field Plaza and in the Lexus Dugout Club on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.

Auction items will include Dodger game-used jerseys, autographed jerseys, baseballs and photos. The Houston Food Bank received $67,435 from the LADF earlier this month via the foundation’s 50/50 raffle.

Fans can join the Dodgers contributing to relief efforts while attending games during the homestand or online at RedCross.org/Dodgers.
