It has been a devastating week for thousands of Southern California citizens as wildfires continue to plague the landscape, which has spurred Chris Taylor and his wife Mary into action.
With how much the Los Angeles Dodgers mean to the community, many players utilize their respective platforms to make positive change.
The Taylors, through their CT3 Foundation, began matching donations up to $5,000 in order to help the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
The Taylors are raising awareness and money as fires blaze in the Pacific Palisades, Altadena/Pasadena, West Hills, Sylmar and Acton (Antelope Valley).
The CT3 Foundation began in 2020 as a joint venture between Chris and Mary, and in that time they have raised funds to support families in multiple communities. The foundation aims to make an impact in Los Angeles, as well as Chris’ hometown of Virginia Beach.
The CT3 Foundation’s mission focuses on helping those who are affected by cancer, particularly children. Chris and Mary were inspired to take up their specific fight as they were both greatly impacted by the disease through friends and loved ones.
CT3 Foundation Polar Plunge
One the foundation’s most prominent fundraising initiatives is the Polar Plunge in which participants take a dip into the Pacific Ocean.
The second iteration of the event is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2025, at the Manhattan Beach Pier. In 2024, the event raised over $175,000 in support of the Friendship Foundation, which assists families with children and young adults who live with disabilities.
