The Los Angeles Dodgers announced ahead of Saturday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves that they have called up right-hander Daniel Corcino and optioned switch-pitcher Pat Venditte to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

To make room for Corcino on the 40-man roster, prospect Dennis Santana was transferred from the 10-day to the 60-day disabled list.

The Dodgers signed Corcino to a Minor League deal in May of 2017 and he has been pitching in the Minor Leagues ever since. He appeared in 14 games (six starts) so far this season between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA and 1.05 WHIP while striking out 43 compared to 16 walks in 44.2 innings.

Corcino has been even better in his time with Oklahoma City, posting a 1.95 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 37 innings across 10 games (six starts).

This is not Corcino’s first stint in the Major Leagues, as the 27-year-old appeared in five games (three starts) for the Cincinnati Reds in 2014. In 18.2 innings, he yielded a 4.34 ERA, 4.69 FIP and 1.23 WHIP with 15 strikeouts and 10 walks.

Venditte has been going back and forth between Los Angeles and Oklahoma City a lot in recent weeks. He gave up three hits and a run in 0.2 innings in Friday night’s win over the Braves. Overall in five games with the big league club this season, he has struggled to the tune of an 8.31 ERA and 2.08 WHIP.
