Los Angeles Dodgers reporter David Vassegh fulfilled a goal of his by going down the Milwaukee Brewers’ slide, only to come away with injuries to his right hand/wrist and ribs.

After initially going down the slide at American Family Field for the Dodgers’ TikTok account, Vassegh made the climb back up to Bernie Brewer’s perch. His second time down the slide resulted in Vassegh suffering multiple fractures in his right wrist and six cracked ribs.

He nevertheless fulfilled responsibilities for SportsNet LA by interviewing Justin Turner prior to first pitch before getting examined by a doctor. Vassegh later joined the SportsNet LA broadcast with his right wrist wrapped in a cast.

He thanked the Dodgers medical staff, along with Turner, Cody Bellinger and David Price for being among those to take an interest in his wellbeing.

Vassegh said he has two fractures in his right hand/wrist and six fractured ribs.

“Skinny fat body can’t handle it,” Vassegh added.

Like the Dodgers did when Gavin Lux crashed into the wall at Dodger Stadium, a body outline was taped where Vassegh went into the padding, along with “holy crap” spelled out.

Visitors to American Family Field can purchase an experience to go down Bernie’s Slide up to five times. The Brewers’ mascot uses it whenever the team hits a home run. While the Brewers’ slide has taken on different iterations, it’s been in place for their home games since 1973.

Home runs from Austin Barnes and Max Muncy were all the offense could muster in a 2-1 win over the Brewers, which the catcher dedicated to the Dodgers broadcaster.
