In the ever-evolving world of Major League Baseball, rookies often experience a roller coaster of performances, with some shining brightly while others struggle to find their footing. Over the past month, we’ve seen significant fluctuations among the top rookies and their odds of winning National League Rookie of the Year.

This monthly list highlights the top-performing rookies based on their recent performance, not necessarily predicting the Rookie of the Year award recipients (however, we’ve included the most recent betting odds from Just Casino).

Here’s a detailed look at the top five National League rookies who have made waves recently, including our very own Dodgers’ rookie, Andy Pages.

1. Shota Imanaga, LHP, Chicago Cubs

Shota Imanaga has solidified his standout rookie position, leading the Cubs’ rotation with impressive consistency. He finished second in the April edition of the Rookie Hot List but has since ascended to the top spot. Imanaga boasts an ERA under 1.00 for the season, a testament to his dominance. Over the past month, he has recorded a 1.17 ERA across 38 1/3 innings, striking out 42 batters while issuing only seven walks. His stellar performances have catapulted him into discussions for the Cy Young and Rookie of the Year awards.

ROY ODDS: +110

2. Joey Ortiz, 3B, Milwaukee Brewers

Joey Ortiz, a key acquisition in the Corbin Burnes trade with the Orioles, has emerged as a powerful hitter for the Brewers. He narrowly missed hitting for the cycle recently and has posted a .274/.386/.589 slash line over the past month. Ortiz’s 12 extra-base hits, including five home runs (tied for the most with our own Andy Pages and Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela), have made him a formidable presence at the plate.

ROY ODDS: +1,400

3. Otto Lopez, 2B, Miami Marlins

Otto Lopez has showcased his versatility, playing multiple positions but finding a steady home at second base for the Marlins. Known for his defensive prowess, Lopez ranks in the 85th percentile in Outs Above Average and has been swinging a hot bat. Over the past month, he has maintained a .300/.345/.540 slash line with three home runs and three doubles, proving to be a valuable asset for Miami.

ROY ODDS: N/A

4. Bryan Hudson, LHP, Milwaukee Brewers

Bryan Hudson, another Brewers’ rookie, has excelled in his relief role. Acquired in a January trade, Hudson has been dominant in multi-inning appearances, posting a 0.47 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 19 1/3 innings. His journey from being drafted by the Cubs in 2015 to finding success with the Brewers has been remarkable, solidifying his spot as one of the top rookie relievers.

ROY ODDS: +N/A

5. Andy Pages, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Finally, our very own Andy Pages has made the top five, showcasing his talent and consistency. Despite a slight dip in his offensive numbers, Pages has been a reliable starter among rookie position players. Over the past month, he played in 30 games and demonstrated his power, tying for the most home runs with five. His .257/.293/.442 slash line, coupled with his defensive contributions (two Outs Above Average and ranking in the 79th percentile of Arm Value), underscores his all-around impact on the field.

Pages’ inclusion in this list highlights the depth of talent within the Dodgers’ organization and the promise of a bright future. As we continue to watch these rookies evolve and make their mark, it’s clear that the National League is brimming with exciting young talent ready to shape the future of baseball.

ROY ODDS: +2,000
