In the latest episode of “DodgerHeads,” host Jeff Spiegel and DodgerBlue.com’s senior writer and editor Daniel Starkand discussed all of the latest topics surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Before the baseball talk started, they discussed a much bigger issue in the world today, and that’s police brutality and social injustice that so many people are protesting about after the death of George Floyd. Mookie Betts was among the Dodgers to share his thoughts, seeking ‘equality for all’ and using his platform to spread a positive message for the greater good.

The discussion then shifted to Major League Baseball’s latest proposal to the Players Association and the back and forth negotiating that has been going on for a handful of weeks now.

While both Spiegel and Starkand remain optimistic they will be able to come to an agreement and a 2020 season will take place, the two sides are still far off from that happening. MLB’s latest proposal demonstrates that they are willing to pay players the full prorated salaries they are asking for, but only for a 50-60 game season, which is far off from the 114 players asked for.

More Dodger focused, Spiegel and Starkand then discussed under-the-radar players on the team going into the 2020 season. Some names that were brought up include Corey Seager, AJ Pollock, Chris Taylor, Tony Gonsolin, Julio Urias, David Price and Joe Kelly. All of the players seem to be heading into the 2020 campaign with something to prove and could exceed expectations.

To close out the show, Spiegel threw rapid fire questions to Starkand that were inspired from Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser’s podcast. Among the questions were who on the team would make the best manager and who would win in a battle royal amongst those on the 40-man roster.
