Despite uncertainty hovering over the 2020 Major League Baseball season, there are a multitude of topics to discuss, involving the sport as a whole and Los Angeles Dodgers specifically. As such, DodgerBlue.com has rebranded its online show and launched “DodgerHeads.”

The debut episode featured host Jeff Spiegel and DodgerBlue.com managing editor Matthew Moreno.

Beyond the start of the season being delayed and the idea of playing a 162-game slate already ruled out, there isn’t much clarity to be had. MLB continues to adhere to recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and seek input from health officials.

At minimum, baseball activities will not begin in full earnest at least until May 11. For now, the CDC suggested gatherings of 50 or more people be cancelled through May 10. They may very well extend that, which would have a domino effect on MLB’s timeline.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman went so far as to caution against attempting to make any sort of predictions when it comes to the 2020 MLB season — including whether or not one would even be played.

“I don’t think anybody can say anything with certainty right now. About anything,” Friedman said on a conference call when asked if he could assure there will be a 2020 season. His comments came on March 26, which of course was the original date of Opening Day.

“Things are seemingly changing by the day and I think with the safer at home (order), we obviously all get the benefits of that. By us all doing that, I’m optimistic of where that will lead but I don’t think anybody is looking too far out right now with any bold proclamations.”

Friedman did add there is a unified focus on playing games this year.

Meanwhile, the inaugural episode of “DodgerHeads” concludes by touching on the favorite player bracket the Dodgers shared on social media last week.
