Chris Taylor: Dodgers ‘Know We’re A Good Team’

After an uninspiring start to the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers have improved their play over the last week and won five of their last six games.

Their most recent victory on Tuesday night, a 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies, moved them to within 4.5 games of first place in the National League West.

Chris Taylor’s two-run home run in the sixth inning gave the Dodgers the lead and proved to be the difference, which can go a long way in inspiring confidence for a player who has struggled so far this season.

Taylor believes that not only him, but the entire team, has gained confidence over the last week since they began turning things around in Miami against the Marlins, as seen on SportsNet LA:

“Ever since that last game in Miami, we’ve been playing good baseball. Even a couple games before that, you could tell we were really close. We were in every game, we just couldn’t get over the hump, we just couldn’t come out on top. The series sweep in D.C., that was huge for our confidence and now we know we’re a good team. We were gonna turn things around eventually, and now I think we can just got out there and play free and easy and play the way we’re capable of playing.”

Taylor’s comments are similar to what Justin Turner has said in the last week, believing the Dodgers actually reached their turning point when they lost to the Marlins on Wednesday, and then deeming that they got their ‘swag’ back after sweeping the Washington Nationals.

The Rockies are currently atop the NL West standings, so winning Wednesday night’s game to take the series could be a crucial victory to keep the momentum going in the right direction.
