Live Nation announced famed musician Billy Joel will play Dodger Stadium for the first time on May 13 as part of his 2017 tour. Joel’s scheduled performance comes during a seven-game road trip for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As of this writing, Joel only has one scheduled show at Dodger Stadium, which also represents his lone stop in the Southern California area. Other baseball stadiums the 67-year-old is scheduled to play include SunTrust Park (April 28), Wrigley Field (Aug. 11) and Fenway Park (Aug. 30).

Ticket for Joel’s Dodger Stadium concert are priced $49.50-$139.50. They go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at 800-745-3000 and Ticketmaster.com. American Express Card Members can purchase tickets beginning Monday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, Jan. 12 at 10 p.m.

Joel’s last visit to the Los Angeles area came in May 2014 when he played three sold-out nights at the Hollywood Bowl. In 2009, he joined Elton John for the Face 2 Face Tour, which sold-out two nights at the Honda Center.

In addition to his 2017 tour, Joel is continuing his residency at Madison Square Garden, which is entering a fourth year. Four concert dates for 2017 have been announced at the historic arena to this point.

Joel rose to stardom as a piano player and lounge signer at the Executive Room on Wilshire Boulevard during the 1980s under the name Bill Martin. Characters in Joel’s first single, “Piano Man,” were based on staff and customers from the bar.

Last February the Dodgers announced a multiyear exclusive booking agreement with the Oak View Group (OVG) to bring more concerts to Dodger Stadium.

Beyoncé’s “Formation World Tour” rolled into Dodger Stadium on Sept. 14, 2016, during the second United States leg of her tour.
