After winning the first two games of the series, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to complete a sweep of the Houston Astros on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

Tony Gonsolin makes his 11th start of the year and hopes to bounce back from a rough outing against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed a season-high seven runs on six hits in 5.2 innings of work.

That’s despite Gonsolin striking out five of the first nine batters faced without giving up a baserunners. “Maybe just trying to be too fine or kind of nibbling a little bit, but overall, just can’t happen,” he said of his struggles after the third inning.

Gonsolin enters at 4-2 with a 2.92 ERA, 4.11 FIP and 1.01 WHIP in 52.1 innings pitched this season. His start against the Astros comes on two days of extra rest after making his previous start on a normal schedule.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Gonsolin has recovered well between outings heading into the start against the Giants and now again as he faces the Astros.

Houston counters with Hunter Brown, who is also trying to bounce back from a rough start against the New York Mets. The right-hander gave up six runs and seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

Brown is in the midst of his first full MLB season and owns a 6-4 record, 3.78 ERA, 3.52 FIP, 1.22 WHIP and 10 strikeouts per nine across 81 innings (14 starts).

Prior to the game the Dodgers placed Chris Taylor on the 15-day injured list and recalled Yonny Hernández from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
