Corey Seager slugged his second home run in as many games, Julio Urias impressed in his debut, and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied in the 10th inning for 5-1 victory to earn a series split with the San Francisco Giants.

Seager, who celebrated his 23rd birthday, took Matt Moore deep on an 0-2 pitch in the first inning. Justin Turner walked, but was stranded by Yasiel Puig and Chris Taylor. After retiring the side in order in the bottom of the first, Urias faced some traffic in the second inning.

He issued a leadoff walk to Buster Posey, then allowed a base hit to Christian Arroyo. Nothing came of it however, as Nick Hundley popped-out, and Kelby Tomlinson grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Moore struck out Turner to end the third, after walking Seager with two outs. Urias struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 third inning of work. He allowed a leadoff single to Belt in the fourth but still managed to face the minimum that inning, preserving the Dodgers’ 1-0 lead.

After Tomlinson singled with two outs in the fifth, Urias intentionally walked Gorkys Hernandez, bringing Moore to the plate. He made decent contact, though lined out to center field to end the inning. On the mound, Moore continued to sail.

That left the Giants in position to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. A Belt one-out walk turned into much more when Urias’ throw over to first base got away from Scott Van Slyke. Belt advanced to third base, and later scored on an Arroyo two-out RBI single that skimmed off Urias’ glove and carried into center field.

Urias’ afternoon came to an end at that point. The book closed on him at 90 pitches over 5.2 innings, with one run allowed on four hits. Urias issued four walks and collected four strikeouts.

Taylor’s leadoff single in the seventh was just the Dodgers’ second hit of the game. He moved into scoring position on a wild pitch, and then advanced to third base on Austin Barnes’ sacrifice bunt.

The Dodgers continued to spin their wheels with runners in scoring position, with Van Slyke and Cody Bellinger each striking out looking. The Giants managed two singles off Luis Avilan in the eighth, only for both runners to be stranded when Posey grounded into a double play.

Mark Melancon made quick work of Turner, Puig and Taylor in the ninth. Granted, Melancon benefitted from a liberal strike-three call on Turner. Kenley Jansen allowed a two-out single and stolen base, but otherwise struck out the side to send the game into extra innings.

The Dodgers loaded the bases with nobody out in the 10th inning, behind an Adrian Gonzalez leadoff walk, Chase Utley infield single and Yasmani Grandal walk. Ross Stripling pinch-ran for Gonzalez, and scored on Andrew Toles’ base hit to right-center field.

Utley atoned for failing to score on the single by doing so on a foul out down the first-base line. He benefitted from Posey juggling the ball before making the catch. Turner extended the lead and his career-long hitting streak to 13 games with an RBI single, and Taylor worked a walk to bring in another run.

Chris Hatcher set the Giants down in order in the bottom of the 10th to wrap up the Dodgers’ 5-1 victory. Los Angeles finished 3-4 on their road trip.
