Los Angeles Dodgers top prospect Alex Verdugo is hosting the club’s first Viva Los Dodgers event of the 2019 season. Festivities at Dodger Stadium begin Sunday morning at 11 a.m. PT, with auto gates opening at 10:40 a.m.

First pitch for the series finale between the Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates is set for 1:10 p.m. The family-friendly event will celebrate Mexico and feature live music, interactive games, autograph sessions and an on-stage interview with Verdugo.

He was a member of the Mexican National team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and Verdugo embracing those roots have endeared him to the Dodgers’ fanbase.

Banda La Maravillosa, a Mexican Regional-style band formed in Los Angeles with a reputation of unmatchable energy combined with commitment to true musical excellence, will perform on the Viva Los Dodgers stage.

Manny Mota will be stationed at the autograph booth, beginning at 11 a.m. Mota is in his 51st season with the Dodgers and is the longest-tenured coach in Los Angeles franchise history.

Fans are welcomed to take advantage of free on-site eye care services provided by UCLA Stein Mobile Eye Clinic. For over 40 years, the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic has provided free eye care services and glasses for underserved communities in Los Angeles County.

Viva Los Dodgers is held on the last Sunday of every month, two hours prior to the game at Dodger Stadium. Each festival includes a theme and is free with a ticket to that day’s game. Player appearances and talent additions will be announced throughout the season.

Previous appearances at Viva Los Dodgers have included Kiké Hernandez and Julio Urias, as well as broadcasters Jaime Jarrín, Jorge Jarrín, Fernando Valenzuela and Pepe Yñiguez. Viva Los Dodgers culminates with La Gran Fiesta Viva Los Dodgers ahead of the final home game of the 2019 season on Saturday, Sept. 21.
