The 2024 MLB Draft Lottery will take place on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. PT during the Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee. The event will be broadcast live on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com as well.

The first six picks of the 2024 MLB Draft will be awarded to teams via the lottery. All clubs that did not qualify for the postseason this year and still have a first-round pick are eligible for the 2024 MLB Draft lottery.

The Oakland Athletics (50-112), Kansas City Royals (56-116) and Colorado Rockies (59-103) finished with the three worst records in baseball and each have an 18.3% chance to receive the top overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft.

The Chicago White Sox (14.7%) are the only other team with double-digit odds of winning the lottery.

The remaining teams eligible for the 2024 MLB Draft Lottery are the St. Louis Cardinals (8.3%), Los Angeles Angels (6.1%), New York Mets (4.3%), Pittsburgh Pirates (3.0%), Cleveland Guardians (2.0%), Detroit Tigers (1.6%), Boston Red Sox (1.2%), San Francisco Giants (1.0%), Cincinnati Reds (0.9%), San Diego Padres (0.7%), New York Yankees (0.6%), Chicago Cubs (0.4%) and Seattle Mariners (0.2%).

The Washington Nationals finished with the fifth-worst record in baseball this year but are ineligible for the lottery because they did not receive revenue sharing dollars. Such teams are not allowed to be selected in consecutive lotteries.

The Nationals were awarded the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft and selected outfielder Dylan Crews out of LSU.

The MLB Draft Lottery was introduced last year as part of the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and the Pittsburgh Pirates secured the No. 1 overall pick after being one of three teams with the best odds.

The Pirates selected pitcher Paul Skenes out of LSU.
