You would have to lay a ton of money on the Los Angeles Dodgers and/or New York Yankees if you want to bet on them on the odds to make the 2020 MLB playoffs, but they appear to be the biggest locks on the board for the upcoming (yet delayed) season at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Dodgers lead the way as the biggest favorites at -5000 to get to the postseason for an eighth straight year, while the Yankees are second at -4000.

On the flip side, you can also wager on the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers NOT to qualify for the playoffs at the same price as Los Angeles to make it at -5000. It may seem like a long time ago, but the Orioles earned an American League Wild Card spot in 2016 before losing to the Toronto Blue Jays while the Tigers last made the playoffs in 2014 when they were coincidentally swept by Baltimore 3-0 in the AL Division Series.

The most interesting numbers are on the opposite site of the spectrum, perhaps providing loads of value for baseball bettors if they cash. Do you think the Dodgers may not make the postseason for the first time since 2012? Then you can get +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000) at online betting sites on that happening as well or +1400 on the Yankees missing out. In addition, if you think the sign-stealing scandal will catch up to the Houston Astros and make them miss out for the first time since 2016, you can get nearly 3/1 odds at +290.

More realistic scenarios include the L.A. Angels getting to the playoffs for the first time since 2014 at +180 on those MLB odds in the first year under new skipper Joe Maddon, who led the Chicago Cubs to the World Series title in 2016. Or maybe the Cubs returning for the fifth time in six years at +160.

The Chicago White Sox were also getting a lot of buzz during spring training and could be a good bet at +185 to make the postseason if you like them instead. Whatever you believe, the wagering opportunities are out there.
