Prior to the start of the 2022 season, MLB reached a streaming rights agreement with Apple TV+ for the introduction of “Friday Night Baseball.”
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been featured on the platform three times, beginning with their debut on Jackie Robinson Day when they hosted the Cincinnati Reds.
L.A. was part of the exclusive stream again this past June for a matchup with the Cleveland Guardians and made another appearance last week in the series opener against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.
The Dodgers are on Apple TV+ for a final time this season when they host the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. SportsNet LA will not carry a separate telecast as Apple streams are exclusive broadcasts, but fans can listen via radio on AM 570 L.A. Sports.
The Dodgers took two of three from the Cardinals in their series at Busch Stadium this past July. The two teams have an extensive postseason history could very well add to that come October.
One storyline to watch is future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols’ quest to 700 career home runs. The former Dodger is two blasts away from becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to reach 700 home runs.
“Friday Night Baseball” programming includes pregame and postgame coverage, with host Lauren Gardner and a rotating group of analysts Carlos Peña, Cliff Floyd and Yonder Alonso.
For fans interested in more MLB history, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees also are on Apple TV+ Friday night as Aaron Judge continues to pursue Roger Maris’ record of 61 home runs.
