The significance of Friday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants increased exponentially after Clayton Kershaw announced he intends to retire after the 2025 season.
With the Dodgers in the midst of their final homestand of the year, Friday marks the last Dodger Stadium start of Kershaw’s illustrious 18-year career.
As it happens, Kershaw’s last regular-season start at home coincides with a “Friday Night Baseball” stream on Apple TV+ and thus the game won’t be broadcast on SportsNet LA.
First pitch at Dodger Stadium is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT.
Last year, MLB allowed for a Friday night game between Dodgers and Yankees to be on SportsNet LA, YES Network and Apple TV+
No such luck for Clayton Kershaw's final home start of the regular season
I checked with SportsNet LA and was told the game remains an Apple TV+ exclusive

The Dodgers are following up Kershaw’s final home start of the year with his first and only bobblehead night of 2025. The theme of the bobblehead celebrates Kershaw reaching 3,000 strikeouts.
The Dodgers drafted Kershaw in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft. Kershaw made his MLB debut with the Dodgers on May 25, 2008.
In nine starts at home this season, Kershaw has a 5-0 record with a 3.38 ERA and 31 strikeouts. For his career, he is 117-42 with a 2.26 ERA and 1,645 strikeouts in 227 appearances at home.
Dodger Stadium has served as the backdrop for many of the greatest moments of Kershaw’s career, including his 2014 no-hitter and 3,000th career strikeout, to name a few.
