In addition to games being broadcast on national networks throughout the 2022 season, MLB reached a streaming rights agreement with Apple TV+ for the introduction of “Friday Night Baseball.”
The Los Angeles Dodgers made their debut on Apple TV+ when they hosted the Cincinnati Reds on Jackie Robinson Day, and were back on the company’s platform in June for a game with the Cleveland Guardians.
The Dodgers stream again for their series opener against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. SportsNet LA will not carry a separate telecast, as Apple streams are exclusive broadcasts, but fans will have the option to listen via radio on AM 570 L.A. Sports.
“Friday Night Baseball” programming includes coverage prior to first pitch and after the game goes final, with host Lauren Gardner and a rotating group of analysts Carlos Peña, Cliff Floyd and Yonder Alonso.
Fans additionally can enjoy walk-up songs from teams featured on “Friday Night Baseball” each week, as well as a collection of classic songs celebrating baseball, through Apple Music. In Apple News, fans can follow their favorite teams and watch personalized MLB highlights in the News app.
The Dodgers will be back on the streaming platform Sept. 23, for their series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals. They previously appeared on Peacock as the “MLB Sunday Leadoff” game.
