Fresh off a dominant win, the Los Angeles Dodgers once again host the San Francisco Giants with the chance to clinch a series win.

Although it would have been Tyler Glasnow’s day to start, the Dodgers are utilizing a bullpen game in an effort to give some extra rest to their starters. Ryan Brasier gets the ball to start the game, and from there it’s expected Ryan Yarbrough will pitch a bulk of the innings.

“Obviously tomorrow, (Ryan) Yarbrough is going to be in play,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “In what role, I don’t know yet. You have to get some length from your starters but having guys on your roster that can go multiples is certainly help. What Yarbs did for us the other night, what we expect him to do on Tuesday, certainly allows us a lot of flexibility.”

Brasier has thrown three innings this season, allowing one run with three strikeouts and a 0.67 WHIP. As for Yarbrough, he’s thrown 4.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a 0.86 WHIP.

The Giants counter with their ace, Logan Webb, who finished second place in 2023 National League Cy Young Award voting. Webb faced the San Diego Padres his first start, throwing six innings and allowing two runs with five strikeouts and two walks.

Last year, Webb threw 216 innings, posting a 3.25 ERA while striking out 194 with a 1.07 WHIP.

Webb will be an interesting test for a Dodgers lineup that’s averaged nearly seven runs per game thus far, but they have yet to face on of MLB’s truly elite pitchers.

Jason Heyward remains out of the lineup as he deals with a lower back issue, and he may very well be heading for the injured list. Earlier today, the Dodgers claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, and because he is out of options, the Dodgers will need to add him to their active roster.
