Six Los Angeles Dodgers prospects will be playing in the 2018 California League All-Star Game, representing the team’s Minor League affiliate High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

Among them are shortstop Gavin Lux, catcher Connor Wong, third baseman Rylan Bannon and outfielder Logan Landon, all of which who will be starting in the game. Pitchers Dean Kremer and Tony Gonsolin have also been named to the South Division team.

Lux was a first-round pick of the Dodgers in 2016 and the 20-year-old is in the midst of his best season as a pro. Going into play Friday, Lux is hitting .312/.396/.515 with eight home runs, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 58 games. He was recently placed on the Minor League disabled list with a hamstring injury though, so he likely will not be able to play in the game.

Like Lux, Wong is also another highly regarded prospect in the Dodgers organization after being drafted in the third round in 2017 out of the University of Houston.

Catcher is his main position, but he can also play infield. In 54 games this season, he has slashed .238/.320/.451 with 11 home runs and 29 RBI.

Bannon is a 22-year-old that the Dodgers drafted out of Xavier University in the eighth round in 2017. He has swung the bat extremely well in his first full pro season, hitting .282/.384/.555 with 15 home runs and 39 RBI in 64 games.

Landon is a 25-year-old that played 52 games for the Quakes while also seeing time with Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. With Rancho Cucamonga though, he hit .272/.336/.450 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.

Kremer and Gonsolin have been the backbones of the Quakes pitching staff so far this season. Kremer is 5-2 with a 3.39 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 14 starts while striking out 99 hitters compared to just 22 walks in 66.1 innings. The 22-year-old was a 14th round selection of the Dodgers in 2016 out of UNLV.

Gonsolin, who was taken in the ninth round in 2016 out of St. Mary’s, is 3-2 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 13 starts. In 62.2 innings he has struck out 68 and walked 22.

The Lancaster JetHawks will host the game this year at The Hangar on Tuesday, June 19.
