The complete list of 2024 Silver Slugger Award winners featured 14 teams with at least one positional player recognized, in addition to seven who took home the honor for the first time in their career.
This year’s awards also included two players who won their seventh career Silver Slugger, which has only been achieved by 16 individuals in MLB history.
That includes Mookie Betts, who won the award at the utility position in the National League. Betts’ six previous Silver Sluggers came in the outfield. Jose Altuve also won his seventh career Silver Slugger.
Betts was one of three Los Angeles Dodgers players to win a Silver Slugger Award this year, along with Shohei Ohtani (designated hitter) and Teoscar Hernández (outfield).
Freddie Freeman (first base) and Will Smith (catcher) were finalists at their positions, but lost out to Bryce Harper and William Contreras, respectively.
The Dodgers also collectively beat out the Arizona Diamondbacks for the Offensive Team of the Year Silver Slugger Award in the NL.
The Dodgers and San Diego Padres tied for the MLB-lead with three Silver Slugger winners. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees won Offensive Team of the Year in the American League and had two Silver Sluggers, which tied the Kansas City Royals for most in their league.
The 2024 Silver Slugger Award winners were determined by a vote of MLB managers and coaches who based their selections on a variety of offensive statistics, including on-base plus slugging, OPS+, home runs, hits, runs, RBI, batting average and overall offensive value.
