On the heels of an 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to even up the Freeway Series when the two teams meet again on Tuesday evening at Angel Stadium.

Kenta Maeda gets the nod for his final tuneup before the regular season. He thrived in Cactus League play, pitching to a 2-0 record, 2.70 ERA and 0.50 WHIP with 15 strikeouts against one walk across four Spring Training starts.

In four career games against the Angels (three starts), Maeda is 2-1 with a solid 2.65 ERA, 0.94 WHIP over 17 innings pitched. He has struck out 21 batters while issuing only four walks and has never allowed a home run against the Dodgers’ crosstown rival.

Monday’s is Maeda’s final tuneup as he’s due to start against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third game of the Opening Series.

The Angels counter with right-hander Ty Buttrey, who similarly enjoyed success this spring during Cactus League play. In eight games, he posted a 2.35 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 7.2 innings of work.
