The Los Angeles Dodgers are roughly one month away from the start of Spring Training, but their home is grappling with devastating wildfires that have ravaged multiple regions.

Chris Taylor and his wife Mary began a fundraising effort through their CT3 Foundation, and are matching donations up to $5,000 to support the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea have also joined efforts amid the trying time.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Freemans are making donations in a grand total of $300,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Pasadena Fire Department and Salvation Army:

Good deeds by good people: Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, are donating $300,000 — $100,000 each to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Pasadena Fire Department and the Salvation Army — for wild-fire relief efforts in Los Angeles.

Firefighters are currently battling blazes in Pacific Palisades, Altadena/Pasadena, West Hills, Sylmar, Acton (Antelope Valley) and Granada Hills.

Southern California has received aid and support from firefighters arriving across multiple states.

Freddie Freeman donations

The Freemans have previously demonstrated their generosity through donations to build a new baseball clubhouse that included a locker room, team meeting area, coach’s office and extended batting cages in the 1,440 square foot space at Freddie’s alma mater, El Modena High School.

Late during the 2024 season, the Freemans also hosted doctors and nurses of the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Children’s Hospital of Orange County inside a suite at Dodger Stadium to thank them for their care of Max during his battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.
