Freddie Freeman, Joey Gallo & Dodgers Ranked In Baseball-Reference ‘2022 Sportify Wrapped’

Baseball-Reference released their “2022 Sportify Wrapped,” which ranked the players and teams who were most searched on their website. The Los Angeles Dodgers were well represented, with Freddie Freeman and Joey Gallo also making an appearance.

The Dodgers were the most viewed team page in the state of California for a second consecutive year. The New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals had the most viewed team page in six states each.

That the Dodgers were a popular search term doesn’t come as much of a surprise when considering their 2022 regular season. They set a franchise record with 111 wins and boasted a roster with a bevy of marquee players and All-Stars.

Meanwhile, Freeman had the most player page views in New Mexico. Former Dodgers first baseman Albert Pujols led the way with the most player page views in 25 different states.

Aaron Judge, Pete Browning, Matt Olson, Miguel Cabrera, Christian Yelich, Gio Urshela, Barry Bonds, Stan Musial, Dylan Moore and George Brett also had the most player page views in at least one state.

Gallo, who the Dodgers acquired from the Yankees at the MLB trade deadline, had the 10th-most player page views of the 2022 season. Pujols paced the league and was followed by Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Juan Soto, Bonds, Bryce Harper, Cabrera and Justin Verlander.

2022 Sportify Wrapped: Best of the rest

Pujols had the most player page views of any day during the 2022 season on September 24 when he hit his 700th career home run against the Dodgers.

Eric Hosmer and Harrison Bader ranked No. 2 and 3, respectively, on August 2 when they were traded to the Boston Red Sox and Yankees.
