Freddie Freeman: Dodgers Lineup And Pitching In Sync

Freddie Freeman has been relatively consistent but the Los Angeles Dodgers endured an uneven start to the regular season, which included losing a series to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the end of April.

However, since that point the Dodgers have won four consecutive series. The current stretch included their first time with back-to-back series victory.

The Dodgers have gone 10-2 during the span and outscored their opponents 76-37.

After ending their road trip with a blowout win to take a series from the Milwaukee Brewers, Freddie Freeman highlighted the Dodgers lineup and pitching both performing well simultaneously while speaking with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA:

“The last couple weeks have been pretty good. I think all of us were waiting for it to all kind of click. The first few weeks it was pitch good and we didn’t hit. Then we hit and we didn’t pitch. The last three or four series have been really, really good. Especially coming on a road trip like this and getting two series wins before we get to be home for a while was real nice.”

Earlier this month, Freeman expressed his belief the Dodgers were finding more consistency, and winning two consecutive series on the road has surely only added to that. Particularly when taking into account the San Diego Padres initially snapping the Dodgers’ six-game winning streak.

Freeman contributed to a Dodgers offense that featured more balanced performances against Brewers and Padres pitching staffs that rank fifth- and third-best, respectively, in National League team ERA.

On the pitching front, the starting rotation continues to be led by Julio Urías, Dustin May and Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers bullpen still ranks 23rd in baseball with a 4.35 ERA but has been improved of late as multiple relief pitchers started to find their rhythm.

Freddie Freeman finding his way

Despite struggling some against the Padres and Brewers, Freeman has been hitting at the more consistent rate he’s become known for. In his last 15 games, Freeman is batting .302/.348/.540 with three home runs.
