The Los Angeles Dodgers signing Yoshinobu Yamamoto added to what’s been a wildly successful offseason thus far and is being commemorated by FOCO.
The Yamamoto bobblehead features the right-hander in an action pose and draws inspiration from FOCO’s “Next Stop” series that previously was utilized for Kiké Hernández, Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow, among others.
But unlike the aforementioned players, Yamamoto signing with the Dodgers represents his introduction to Major League Baseball as well.
Yamamoto’s bobblehead features him in the home white Dodgers uniform, set atop a base that features his name and team logo. Behind Yamamoto is the downtown L.A. skyline and sign that reads “Los Angeles Bound.”
Below that is a second sign that reads, “Welcome To The Dodgers.” The Yamamoto bobblehead is limited to 1,024 units and will not be restocked once quantities sell out.
Yamamoto’s 12-year, $325 million contract is both the longest and richest in MLB history. It bested the $324 million that Gerrit Cole received from the New York Yankees in 2019.
Yamamoto’s Dodgers contract includes opt-out clauses after the 2029 and 2031 seasons. Should Yamamoto exercise the first opt-out clause, he would test MLB free agency at 31 years old.
