FOCO launched a new Los Angeles Dodgers bobblehead on Saturday morning, with the release a commemorative set that highlights Mookie Betts and Duke Snider.
Betts of course figures to be cemented in right field for the Dodgers after signing a 12-year, $365 million contract extension in July 2020. That came just before Opening Day of a season that had been delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Thus far in his Dodgers career, Betts has won a World Series, earned a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger Award and been named to two All-Star Games. Betts has been a driving force in the leadoff spot of the Dodgers lineup, often setting the table for Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman.
Meanwhile, Snider is a Dodgers legend who was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in January 1980.
Snider grew up in Southern California and played baseball, football and basketball at Compton High School prior to signing with the Dodgers. He made his MLB debut in 1947, but did not earn an everyday role until 1949.
Snider was named an All-Star seven straight seasons from 1950-56, and finished in the top-10 in National League MVP voting in five of those years. Snider finished as high as second in 1955 MVP voting, behind teammate Roy Campanella.
Overall in his career, Snider batted .295 with 407 home runs and 1,333 RBIs in 2,143 games.
