FOCO released a new Los Angeles Dodgers bobblehead of Mookie Betts on Monday morning to commemorate the years he’s won a Silver Slugger Award. Betts last took home the honor in 2020, his first season with the Dodgers.
Betts won a Silver Slugger Award for a third consecutive season and fourth time overall. He became the sixth player in Dodgers franchise history to win a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger in the same season, joining Cody Bellinger (2019), Adrían González (2014), Matt Kemp (2011), Russell Martin (2007) and Dusty Baker (1981).
While Betts fell short of taking home the hitting honor during an injury-riddled 2021 season, he may be on his way to being recognized once again. Betts put together a historic month of May in which he tied or broke multiple Dodgers records and it raised his overall statistics for 2022.
His season has been interrupted by a fractured rib that is taking longer than the initial hopes of two weeks to heal. Betts nevertheless is expected to return in the near future and should continue to be a spark atop the Dodgers lineup.
The Betts bobblehead by FOCO has him standing on a Silver Slugger Award base that is set to colors associated with the recognition from Louisville Slugger’s signature honor.
FOCO previously released a Betts bobblehead for a Dodgers City Connect uniform set with Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman, and to celebrate Opening Day of the 2022 regular season.
When will Mookie Betts return?
Considering Betts has not yet been able to resume baseball activities, it stands to reason he may not be activated off the 10-day injured list until the middle of July. Betts and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts initially estimated a return would take place around two weeks from June 19.
