The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced the signing of Albert Pujols, who then made his debut with the team in a 3-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night. Now, Pujols’ signing with the Dodgers is being celebrated by FOCO through the release of a limited-edition bobblehead.
The ‘Welcome to Los Angeles Dodgers’ bobblehead of Pujols went on sale Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. PT and is numbered out of 255 units. Several of the previous Dodgers bobbleheads released by FOCO have sold out in a matter of minutes.
Much of those focused on celebrating the Dodgers winning last year’s World Series, as fans were given the chance to purchase bobbleheads of Mookie Betts, Clayton Kershaw, Corey Seager and Justin Turner, among others. Also still available for preorder is a World Series pins set.
The complete Pujols bobblehead design has yet to be unveiled, but will feature the future Hall of Famer in his new No. 55 and of course in a Dodgers uniform and cap. A similar model was released to commemorate Trevor Bauer signing with his hometown team.
Also available as of Tuesday morning is a mascot bobblehead of a koala dressed in a Dodgers jersey and accompanied by a World Series trophy.
Both bobbleheads are priced at $50, with the koala version limited to a production run of 400.
Pujols enjoyed Dodgers debut
Pujols started at first base and hit cleanup in his first game with the Dodgers. He flied out in his first at-bat and delivered an RBI single the second time up, finishing the night 1-for-4.
“It was pretty awesome,” Pujols said of his Dodgers debut. “Really high-pumped energy by the fans. It was really exciting. Really exciting to take that field and contribute for the ballclub.”
