FOCO released a limited-edition Mookie Betts bobblehead in recognition of his being among the Los Angeles Dodgers who were selected to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
The bobblehead features Betts in the blue NL jersey with black pants and set atop a thematic All-Star Game base that includes the Space Needle and trademark “LA” Dodgers logo.
Betts, Freddie Freeman and J.D. Martinez were voted as National League starters, while Will Smith was selected among the reserves and Clayton Kershaw was part of the pitching staff. However, Kershaw was unable to participate in the 93rd Midsummer Classic because of being put on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder soreness.
For Betts, it was a seventh career All-Star Game selection and third with the Dodgers.
FOCO has an additional Dodgers bobblehead of all five All-Stars grouped together. Limited quantities remain available in that version, along with the model of just Betts. Neither will be restocked once sold out.
Betts started in center field and hit third in the NL lineup, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout. He was part of a memorable exchange with Freeman while the two were mic’d up during the bottom of the first inning.
Among the topics Betts and Freeman discussed with a familiar voice in Dodgers broadcaster Joe Davis was recruiting Shohei Ohtani. Freeman joked he did not want to get involved due to tampering, but Betts quickly said the Dodgers would welcome the two-way star if he chose to sign with the team.
