The Los Angeles Dodgers have not yet officially unveiled their 2024 City Connect jerseys. However, there have been several pictures circulating on the internet that hint at what this year’s edition of the jersey could be.
If the rumored pictures are a reality, it is a drastic change from the jerseys of year’s past.
Since MLB unveiled the concept of city connect uniforms, the Dodgers have stayed true to an all blue uniform. But the pictures currently being rumored for 2024 are an off-white jersey that has what appear to be colorful specks all around with black and blue Los Angeles in all caps on the front.
Up until now, the front of the jersey was the only thing that had been shown online. But recently, fans got their first look at what the back of the jersey might be if these do ultimately end up being L.A.’s 2024 city connects, via X user @erhod55:

The back, Mookie Betts’ being the example photo, has a large jersey number that is seemingly cut off at the bottom by the name of the player. This is somewhat similar to the streak across the Los Angeles writing in front that cuts off a small part of each letter.
Until the Dodgers officially reveal their uniform, it remains unclear what the purpose behind this jersey is and how it connects to the city of Los Angeles.
Often times, city connect jerseys have somewhat recognizable features that tie it to the city. This can be seen in the Washington Nationals’ cherry blossom jersey, the L.A. Angels’ surf jersey and the Boston Red Sox’s public transportation theme.
But the Dodgers are likely going to need an explanation for this choice in jersey when they eventually reveal the rumored uniform.
Pirates’ Oneil Cruz wore Dodgers tribute cleats during series
The Dodgers faced the Pittsburgh Pirates and former prospect Oneil Cruz during a three-game series at PNC Park.
Cruz first signed with the Dodgers in July 2015 as an international free agent and began his career in L.A.’s system with the Dominican Summer League Dodgers in 2016 where he had a .294 average with 23 RBI in 55 games.
During the 2017 season, he started with the High-A Great Lakes Loons, but later that year, he was traded to the Pirates in exchange for left-handed reliever Tony Watson.
During Thursday’s game between the Dodgers and Pirates, Cruz chose to depict the journey that brought him to the Majors with his cleats. One cleat showcased his Dodgers roots, and the other his Pirates present.
