While teams are starting to make moves at the annual Winter Meetings in Florida, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been quiet to this point.
Coming off a season in which they were a win away from winning a World Series after boasting the best record in all of baseball at 104-58, the Dodgers return almost all of their core nucleus in 2018.
They showed some interest in Japanese star Shohei Ohtani and reigning National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton, but ultimately lost out of both.
Despite that though, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman stressed that they are not going to panic and make an unnecessary move at the Winter Meetings. General manager Farhan Zaidi echoed that thought, saying that the team doesn’t currently have any glaring needs that they need to address, via Andy McCullough of the L.A. Times:

If they were to make a move, Friedman said it would most likely be for a reliever, but it appears nothing is close as Zaidi says they are unlikely to finalize any deals by the end of the Winter Meetings on Thursday:

A lot of the big-name relievers have come off the market this week, but there are still a few big names left, most notably Wade Davis and Greg Holland.
With the front office and ownership’s desire to get under the luxury tax threshold, the Dodgers are more likely to pursue relievers on the value end, as they did the last two offseasons when they struck gold with both Brandon Morrow and Joe Blanton.
