Elon Musk’s The Boring Company Settles Lawsuit, Pressing Ahead With Constructing Operational Tunnel To Dodger Stadium

Los Angeles Dodgers fans that frequently attend games at Dodger Stadium are well aware of the standstill traffic that accompanies the travel to and from the ballpark.

To curb that problem, Elon Musk’s The Boring Company announced in August that it was intending to construct an underground tunnel that would allow fans to get from the Red Line to Dodger Stadium in under four minutes.

Deemed “The Dugout Loop,” not everyone was onboard with the idea. Various community groups around the area were in opposition of the tunnel’s exemption from necessary environmental requirements.

It resulted in a lawsuit, though a settlement was reached when The Boring Company agreed to scrap its plans of following through with building the tunnel.

Starting from square one again, The Boring Company is now aiming to construct an operational tunnel at Dodger Stadium as a way to ease traffic, via Dennis Romero of NBC News:

“The parties (The Boring Company, Brentwood Residents Coalition, Sunset Coalition, and Wendy-Sue Rosen) have amicably settled the matter of Brentwood Residents Coalition et al. v. City of Los Angeles (TBC — The Boring Company),” a statement sent by a Boring spokesman said. “The Boring Company is no longer seeking the development of the Sepulveda test tunnel and instead seeks to construct an operational tunnel at Dodger Stadium.”

The new proposal is being referred to as the “Dugout Loop High Speed Transportation Project.” It would transport fans from the subway lines of Vermont Avenue to Dodger Stadium three miles away courtesy of autonomous all-electric modified Tesla Model X platforms.

Whether the new project comes to fruition remains to be seen, but Musk is clearly putting forth a full-fledged effort in helping alleviate traffic when traveling to Dodger Stadium.
