The Los Angeles Dodgers concluded their regular-season schedule with a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rockies, which saw Edgardo Henriquez record the first save of his Major League career.

The right-hander worked around a one-out walk to record a scoreless ninth inning that included two strikeouts. With that, Henriquez became the 14th Dodgers pitcher to record a save this season, which extended their new franchise record.

Justin Wrobleski’s four-inning save on Saturday broke the franchise record as the 13th different pitcher to close out a game this season.

The Dodgers tied the 2021 Tampa Bay Rays for the MLB record with 14 pitchers recording a save in a season. No other club has more than 12 in a single year.

Evan Phillips led the way with 18 saves this season, while Daniel Hudson (10), Michael Kopech (six), Alex Vesia (five) and Anthony Banda (two) are the only other Dodgers relievers with more than one.

The group of pitchers with one save are J.P. Feyereisen, Henriquez, Brent Honeywell Jr., Landon Knack, Dinelson Lamet, Yohan Ramírez, Blake Treinen, Wrobleski and Ryan Yarbrough.

While Phillips has the most saves among Dodgers pitchers this season, Kopech figures to handle most of the ninth-inning opportunities in the playoffs.

Henriquez previously helped the Dodgers set a new franchise record with 40 pitchers used in a single season at 40. The old Dodgers franchise record for most pitchers to appear in a season was 39, set in 2021 and matched in 2023.

Edgardo Henriquez on Dodgers postseason roster?

Henriquez allowed one run on two hits with five strikeouts against two walks in 3.1 innings pitched at the big league level this season.

With a fastball that exceeds 100 mph, he could potentially earn a spot on the Dodgers postseason roster.

“I think there’s a lot of guys that are up for consideration,” manager Dave Roberts recently said. “But certainly armed talent, you can’t debate that,”
