Four-time GRAMMY Award winner Ed Sheeran was announced as the performer for the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium on May 2.
Deemed the “Party for L.A.,” the Blue Diamond Gala is presented by the Los Angeles Dodgers ownership group.
“As we look forward, the gala underscores our unwavering commitment to serving Los Angeles, ensuring that as long as there is need, our ownership group will be here to support,” Dodgers controlling owner Mark Walter said in a statement. “We welcome Ed Sheeran to a family of past Blue Diamond Gala performers whose artistry has helped raise vital funds to support Angelenos.”
The entire Dodgers roster, coaching staff, front office and ownership group are expected to be among those in attendance.
The eighth-annual event is again going to feature a blue carpet and pre-show dinner, a DJ set and food trucks after Sheeran’s private concert. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for purchase.
Proceeds benefit the LADF and their programs and initiatives aimed at improving education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos.
In the last 10 years, the Dodgers Foundation established a community ecosystem that expanded simply beyond baseball. Now the organization is in its next phase of evolution with the launch of a new strategic plan to make a lasting impact for Los Angeles.
The LADF intends to achieve that goal by building upon past successes through amplifying best practices, scaling solutions to reach more Angelenos, growing its capacity, and refining its work.
“We’re honored to host the biggest night in the city as we recognize the success and contributions of our partners, community leaders, and everyday champions,” Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation CEO Nichol Whiteman said.
“Thanks to our allies and supporters, LADF accelerates community investment, creates collective power to address key issues, and builds infrastructure for sustained capacity as we support extraordinary organizations leading transformative change throughout the region.”
Since inception, LADF has invested more than $60 million into the Los Angeles community in the form of direct programs and grants to nonprofits. That’s helped provide access to opportunities for growth and basic necessities for marginalized populations and vulnerable neighborhoods.
