The Los Angeles Dodgers (56-35) have some work to do in the second half of the season to win the National League West for the ninth straight time and get back to the World Series for the fourth time in five years.

The Dodgers will continue defense of both crowns on Friday when they start a three-game road series against the Colorado Rockies (40-51) at Coors Field, opening as -200 favorites for the first game at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. They currently sit two games behind the San Francisco Giants for the division lead (how the moneyline works).

Los Angeles will send Julio Urias (11-3, 3.64 ERA) to the hill for Friday’s opener opposite Colorado’s Antonio Senzatela (2-8, 4.58 ERA). Urias has not lost in his past three starts, picking up back-to-back wins in his last two after allowing a combined two earned runs and nine hits in 13 innings with five walks and 12 strikeouts. His last setback occurred June 21 at the San Diego Padres.

For the Rockies, Senzatela has struggled mightily this season, as they have alternated losses and wins in his previous five outings. In fact, he has not earned a win since beating the Texas Rangers on June 2, when he gave up only one earned run and seven hits in 7.2 innings. Since then, he has suffered three losses and walked away with three no-decisions in six starts.

On Saturday night, Walker Buehler (9-1, 2.36 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Dodgers versus Chi Chi Gonzalez (3-5, 5.51 ERA) of the Rockies before Kyle Freeland (1-3, 5.48 ERA) closes things out for the home team Sunday against unbeaten David Price (4-0, 3.23 ERA). Los Angeles is fortunate not to have to face Colorado’s All-Star German Marquez (8-6, 3.36 ERA) this time around.

Regardless, the Rockies have lost the past six meetings with Los Angeles along with nine of 11 and 14 of 18. The UNDER is also on a 4-1 series run at sports betting sites, although the OVER is 3-1-1 in the last five games for Los Angeles overall. In addition, the UNDER has cashed in three straight for Colorado and 12 of 14 overall dating back to June 27.
