Dodgers Vs. Red Sox: World Series Schedule, Start Times & TV Info

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox are officially set to meet in the 2018 World Series, which begins Tuesday. By virtue of finishing with the best record in baseball, the Red Sox secured home-field advantage through the Fall Classic, regardless of the National League champion.

The American League pennant is a fourth in the past 15 seasons for the Red Sox, but first since 2013. This year was their 10th trip to the postseason since 2003. Boston is in the World Series for a 13th time in franchise history, having won eight and in each of their last three trips there (2004, 2007, 2013).

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are in the World Series for a second consecutive year. Whereas in 2017 they ran away with the best overall record and stormed through the NL playoffs, this season was much more of an uphill battle.

Nonetheless, the Dodgers have won a 23rd pennant in franchise history to tie the San Francisco Giants for most in league history. It’s their 11 league title since moving to Los Angeles in 1958, and they are back-to-back NL champions for the first time since 1977 and 1978.

Moreover, the Dodgers are the first team to make consecutive appearances in the World Series since the Philadelphia Phillies did so in 2008 and 2009.

The Dodgers and Red Sox have met once in the World Series, back in 1916 when Boston defeated Brooklyn.
