The Los Angeles Dodgers remained undefeated in Cactus League play this year by defeating the San Francisco Giants, 5-2, at Scottsdale Stadium. Zach Lee turned in two solid innings of work, and was followed by Adam Liberatore, Ross Stripling, Matt West, Chase De Jong and Logan Bawcom.
The Dodgers return to Camelback Ranch on Monday to face the Cleveland Indians, who are coming off consecutive losses to the Giants and Milwaukee Brewers. Los Angeles sends Alex Wood to the hill for his first start this spring.
Once viewed as the sixth starter and a likely candidate to be sent to the bullpen, Wood is now all but guaranteed a spot in the rotation with Brett Anderson undergoing back surgery and Hyun-Jin Ryu not expected to return until some point in May.
Howie Kendrick was scheduled to start at third base on Monday for the first time since July 23, 2006. However, Kendrick was scratched from the lineup due to groin soreness.
Danny Salazar makes his second start of the spring for Cleveland. Salazar allowed three runs on two hits, but also had five strikeouts in his first outing. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. PT. Monday’s game is not being televised or part of a radio broadcast, but can be viewed below:
