Fresh off a travel day after going 6-1 on their first homestand of the regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers now begin a true road trip with a matinee matchup against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The Dodgers technically are 1-0 on the road this season due to defeating the San Diego Padres in the opener of the Seoul Series. L.A. was the designated home team at Gocheok Sky Dome when they lost the finale of the two-game set.

The Dodgers enter the matchup on a four-game winning streak and face a Cubs team that has also rattled off four consecutive victories in a row after dropping their first two to the Texas Rangers.

Bobby Miller is first to brave the elements in the famed Windy City, with his second start of the season coming on extra rest. Miller dominated the St. Louis Cardinals as he collected a career-best 11 strikeouts over six scoreless innings in his 2024 debut last week.

Miller is facing the Cubs for the first time in his young career and does so on his 25th birthday.

He faces a cubs lineup that includes a pair of former Dodgers in Cody Bellinger and Michael Busch, who was teammates with Miller before being traded to Chicago in the offseason.

The Cubs hand the ball to Kyle Hendricks, who had a disastrous season debut as he gave up five runs on nine hits with two walks and two strikeouts in just 3.2 innings against the Rangers.

However, Hendricks is coming off a strong season overall in 2023 when he posted a 3.74 ERA across 137 innings with a 1.20 WHIP and 93 strikeouts compared to 27 walks.

Hendricks faces a Dodgers lineup that has scored five or more runs in all nine of their games this season, which is one game shy of tying the modern day record and four shy of the all-time record, set by the 1932 New York Yankees.
